Nanaimo home sales were unchanged in October 2015 when compared with October 2014. The average sale price increased 1%. The median house price was $364,000.
Parksville/Qualicum home sales decreased 6% in October 2015 when compared with October 2014. The average sale price increased 3%. The median house price was $385,000.
Synopsis
In Nanaimo for October 2015 there were 380 active listings of single family freehold homes and 230 in Parksville/Qualicum.
The graphs below are for Nanaimo and show the average sold numbers and average sold price since January 2012.
The following graph shows the % difference of the housing price index (HPI) from the same month 12 months ago. It is split into the different sub-areas and is for single family homes.
There is still a continuing shortage of homes for sale which we have been seeing for a large part of the year. This has meant that there are still buyers out there waiting for their next home to be listed.
