Did you know that on any given day in Canada, 6,000 women and children are living in an emergency shelter to escape domestic violence? Or that every 6 days in Canada, on average, a woman is killed by her current or former partner? The statistics are frightening but we're committed to doing all we can to change them.
Join us on Saturday, May 11th at the National Garage Sale for Shelter to find great bargains and help raise funds and awareness to break the cycle of family violence. You can also help support the cause by donating gently used items in advance of our sale.
The Royal LePage Nanaimo Realty Garage Sale for Shelter will take place at 4200 Island Hwy (our office) from 9am to 12pm.
Donations can be dropped off to the Royal LePage office at 4200 Island Hwy from 10am to 4pm, Monday - Saturday, until Friday, May 10, 2019 (unfortunately we cannot take bedding, clothing, large appliances or large furniture.)
In 2018 the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation raised $2.3 million nationally to help thousands of women and children rebuild their lives after violence. To date the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation has raised $30 million and are the largest public foundation in Canada dedicated exclusively to supporting women's shelters and putting an end to domestic violence. Here, our Nanaimo and Ladysmith office's raised a total of $31,000 in 2018 with every penny going to the Haven Society.

The following graph shows what is called the absorption rate. This is the time it would take the current homes for sale, to sell, if no new homes were listed, which indicates whether we have a sellers, balanced or buyers market. The 3 rates are based on 1, 6 and 12 months of sales data.
