Synopsis:

In Nanaimo for the month there were 533 active listings of single family freehold homes and 337 in Parksville/Qualicum.

The graphs below are for Nanaimo and show the average sold numbers and average sold price since January 2011.

The number of sales did fall for April, compared with the previous two months, along with the average price. However, as expected we have seen the inventory levels rise as we approach the springtime. With this drop in sales and increase in homes for sale it makes it an ideal time to buy, especially with interest rates remaining so competitive. Also homes are selling quicker as the average days on market for March was just 37 days whereas it was 48 days for the same month last year.

As always I hope you find these monthly statistics reports informative and if at any time you or any of your friends, relatives or co-workers are looking for a professional realtor to help them buy or sell a home, or just have a real estate question, please call my personal cell, 250-739-1228, or drop me an email.
